Cpu : Intel Core i5
Motherboard : ASUS P7P55 LX
Memory : 8GB(2x4) Dual Channel DDR3 (CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9)
System: Windows 7 64Bit

Hello,

I recently bought new RAM (Corsair Vengeance DDR3 2x4GB; 1600mb) for my gaming pc.
As far as I can see it should be compatible with my MB ( ASUS P7P55 LX), but even with only one of the RAM"s in place the computer automatically reboots when Windows starts to load (as soon as the Windows Logo appears).
When chosing "Startup Repair" I get a BSOD (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL).

Things I've tried:

- Updated BIOS to newest version (v1212)
- Tried both cards (separately and together) in different slots

In BIOS: With AI overclock tuner on [Auto] I couldn't set DRAM frequency to 1600, so I tried the following:
-Reset to factory setting
-Used XMP (Profile 1)
-Used D.O.C.P to set DRAM frequency to 1600

None of these solved the issue.

When looking in the BIOS main menu, it recognizes all 8Gb in storage, so looks like everything works well there.
Is there anything I am missing as for why this DRAM wouldn't work in my system?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Solution
The P55 chipset came out when DRAM (DDR3) used low density memory ICs on the sticks. DDR3 moved pretty much exclusively to using high density memory chips in late 2010/early 2011. The sticks using high density chips are more often than not problematic with P55 mobos. I normally recommend using GSkill's NT series of value DRAM in P55 mobos

I had no idea this could be an issue, managed to fix by buying a different card.
Thanks for the quick response!
