Hello everyone,

I'm looking at swapping out my current AMD Radeon HD 5570 for a boost in graphics. I'd like to be able to play games like Overwatch and No man's Sky on high settings and also be ready for future games as well. My current specs are:

Intel Core i5-650 CPU @ 3.2 GHz
8.00 GB DDR3 SDRAM
Intel DP55WB Motherboard w/ PCI Express Gen2
1 GB AMD Radeon HD 5570 (128-bit)
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (x64)
350 W Power Supply
SAMSUNG SyncMaster S27A35OH (Digital) & SAMSUNG SyncMaster 220WM/2220WM/G22PW (Analog)

As far as budget goes, ideally i'd like to keep it under $250

Solution
Let's compare the 960 vs the 970...

The 960 has 1024 CUDA cores, runs at a clock speed of 1127MHz and boosts to 1178MHz, has 2GB onboard memory and fills 72GigaTexels per second. It retails for for $175 on Newegg.

The 970 has 1664 CUDA cores, runs at a clock speed of 1050MHz and boosts to 1178MHz, has 4GB onboard memory and fills 109GigaTexels per second. It retails for about $250 on Newegg.

Because of the prices, I recommend the 960 since you'll need to fit a new power supply into the budget as well.

If you go with This 960 and this power supply, you'll end up spending about $265.

Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely look in to a new power supply.

A friend of mine pointed me towards the GTX 900 series, and I was thinking maybe a 960 or 970. Is the 970 better? it comes with VR support, but i don't think I will be doing any VR anytime soon. Plus, i think the 960 could accomplish what I'm going for
