Hey everyone. I just received my msi gaming x gtx 1060 and installed it. Im loving it since i upgraded from a gtx 660. Can finally play all my games in ultra. However the cooling system is built to only turn on the fans on this card if it reaches 60 Celsius. I have been monitoring the temps and whenever im gaming it is at between 55-60 (more towards 60) at all times while gaming. I was just wondering if this is going to burn out my card quickly over time. Im aware that it isnt all that hot for a GPU but i want this card to last a few years at least because im on a budget with my PC. Thanks in advance everyone.

Solution
It's fine as is. But if you want to adjust the fan curve, the card's software should have an OC'ing app that allows you to do so. I had a reference R9-290 that ran extremely hot. Simply adjusting the fan curve to have the fan come on sooner and ramp up quicker solved that.

Considering that is 20C below what the FE cards do, and that people have operated cards at 80C for years on years, do not worry about 60C. Trying to up the fan speed to make it cooler is more likely going to wear it out than leaving it as is, due to the fan itself wearing down.
