GTX 970 or 980 for rendering with CUDA?

I bought an AMD (R9 270x 2gb) card and most programs I use for work are CUDA only now. Prices finally went down here in my country so i'm ready for the change and finally stop overusing my CPU.

Both cards are 4gb and this is the price gap here in Argentina (Im converting it to US Dollars)

MSI 970 4GB ARS 9000 = U$S 486
MSI 980 4GB ARS 7300 = U$S 600

I'm on a 1080p 60hz monitor and this rig:
i7 2600 @ 4.2ghz
Crucial Ballistix Tactical DDR3 4x8 32gb
600w Coolermaster Extreme
Asus P8Z68-v LE

I'm mainly using After Effects, Premiere, 3ds Max w/ Vray, Cinema 4D and Unity.

Having that U$S 114 gap is it worth getting the 980 or 970?

Solution
It's funny, because the price difference lines up almost exactly with the difference in CUDA cores. The 970 has 1664 and the 980 has 2048.

The 2048 is roughly 5/4 of 1664, $600 is roughly 5/4 of $486... I'd say the pricing is very fair and that it's worth the 980.

However, I don't just recommend the 980 because of price, but also because of the fact that the 980 has more cores. Because of that, it'll handle high-resolution projects much better than a 970 will.

I recommend the 980.

Thanks a lot!

I got my eyes deep into the 980 and it has 8-pin connector x2. My 600w Coolermaster Extreme has 6-pin x2, should I get a new one with 8-pin x2 or just use 2 '6-to-8' adapters? I'm finding unsafe to use TWO adapters.
If I were to get a new one with 8-pin x2, which one do you recommend?

Thanks for everything!

If a PSU doesn't have the connectors you need, then it's likely not meant to power the device in question.

Here are my recommendations. I think that the CM V650 is the best budget option. I would say that the Corsair RM650x would be the highest quality out of the three, but it could be overloaded because of its surplus of high wattage connectors. I would say that the CM V650 is about the same quality as the Corsair RM650x and would be the best for the budget. I simply threw in the EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650 because I know some people are partial to EVGA, I would say that it's the lowest quality of the three, but it's still high quality compared to other brands.

I found it has 2 6+2 pin! But i've been using it since 2010 and that's pretty concerning, i've never encountered problems with it though.
Thank you for the power supplies! I found most of them but prices are... crazy

CM 650w 80+ Gold is U$S 300 here
the Corsair RMX isn't available and the supernova U$D 450. fml

What about the EVGA 600w 80+ Bronze?
