so, the situation was i had just launched a steam game, which is all i had on the ssd. steam and all the games that came with it, and it didn't launch, so i restarted my computer, or tried to but the restart was taking +1 1/2 hours. i hard shut down my computer, and now it is not recognized in device manager, or disk management. I'm new to computers, so could you dumb down the answer?

Welcome to the community, @purpleninja102!

I'd recommend you access BIOS on your computer and check if the SSD is recognized there. If it's not re-seat the connections inside your PC and make sure you have mounted the SSD properly. It might also be a good idea to swap the SATA cable and the port where the drive is connected to on the motherboard. Another thing you could try is accessing it from another computer, if you have access to one.
Posting some screenshots/pics will be really helpful.

Keep me posted with the troubleshooting!
