I currently have a XFX R7 370 2GB Edition. It does the job for what I'm doing at the moment but I want to know if I'm going to need more graphics horse-power in the near future can I upgrade further without my CPU holding the GPUs performance back or am I stuck with a 370?

-Thanks!

Hi,

The problem is no point in buying another one, as you have 2GB and I am not sure but you will have to get another 2GB GPU which pointless as a total GB you will have is 4GB and you can get a 4GB RX 460 instead!

What new CPU would you recommend? Will a 880K fit the bill? Or do I have to upgrade to a better CPU socket, like a LGA 1151 or a AM3+? Just note I have no intentions of upgrading for the rest of this year.

-Thanks

I meant upgrading from one GPU to another, not putting two 2GB GPUs in SLI

I wouldn't recommend an 880k, it is only marginally better than what you have now and won't really make a difference. You can see there isn't much difference in performance between the two.

I would recommend an i5 with a base clock over 3ghz in socket lga 1150 or lga 1151 for gaming.

To add to that. Skylake and 1151 is way to go. DDR4's prices have become alot more reasonable. a H170/150 + I5 6500 + 8 GB of DDR4 ram is a good upgrade.
