When I initialize my 4 TB Seagate Hard drive with windows 8.1 in the Drive Management section. I knew I will have to select the Option on GPT, since it is Over 2 TB.
But when I checked later, after formatting, it ONLY recognizded as 2 TB,I have tried downloading the discwizard from Seagate, to Re-initialize the Hard drive, but to no avail.

Can someone help me plz.thanx

Hey there, @Niteghost!

If you plan to use this 4 TB as a boot HDD, you won't be able to unless you have a UEFI BIOS motherboard, just like @smorizio mentioned. The only way you can use the FULL capacity of the 4 TB HDD in Legacy BIOS motherboard is as a secondary HDD. If the drive is installed as secondary (meaning there is a different primary drive), you shouldn't encounter any issues initializing it in GPT and having access to the 4 TB, instead of just 2 TB.
I'd recommend you read through this tutorial from the community about Installing Windows on larger HDDs.

Good luck!

My Boot is set to Legacy in my DELL PC,I have a 4 TB HD running with Windows 8.1 not able to recognize it.
I do not know how I can mess up ,when I initially tries to initialize it using Windows Disk management?
Infact, it presented me with 2 options, MBR or GPT, obviosly I selected GPT.
