I have a dongle which has WiFi hotspot facility. It uses a CMDA connection, but recently the service provider stopped the CDMA service and upgraded the System in to GSM. The CDMA device became useless.

I was wondering that if i can share the internet on my PC through the that dongle, like using it as a WiFi hotspot to share the internet in my PC rather share the internet form the CDMA service.

If you are using those old device clear used to sell before sprint bought them then you have no chance at all. People have even tried to modify the hardware on the small routers and have found no use. They are locked down pretty hard.

The issue any type of dongle like this is the PC does not even see the wireless radio. Many times you can not share files between the wireless device and the pc because they are on different networks....or at least the device pretends they are.

The largest problem with doing this even if you could get the dongle to appear to be normal wireless card is the drivers do not contain the support for sharing. The tabs are completely missing which means your ICS will not be able to connect to the card...

You are better off spending the $20 and get yourself a actual wireless card to do what you want.
