So I built a computer for the first time, got everything right (at least what I thought). I then had it installing windows and a few programs. After about 3 hours I checked back on it and the computer screen was blank and I could not wake it up. I then turned the power off and now the unit will not boot. I unplugged the gpu and just use what comes on the motherboard, still nothing. I watch the motherboard lights (it has a cpu, dram, hdd, and psu light) that usually go on one at a time, at least it did on the first few successful boots. Now all it shows is the power light on the motherboard. One interesting thing I noticed was the gpu fan is stuttering when I plug it into the motherboard, and it stutters with or without the gpu 8 pin cord plugged in. Any ideas as to what the issue could be? I thought power could be the issue, but I have a 600w supply and it worked fine for those few hours that I cant imagine that be the issue.

Cheers!

Could you please unplug everything from the motherboard except the ATX power, CPU power cable, CPU cooler and front panel wires then plug your HDMI/DVI into the side of the motherboard.
Also remove one stick of ram so you only load up with one stick of 4GB and then turn on the computer and keep pressing DELETE till the BIOS comes up.

(We are trying barebones post)

Oddly enough when I was running for that short time, the ram at first wasn't reading one of the sticks. I then unplugged them and reinserted them. They came up on my performance monitor as unidentified and couldnt even say how much total ram I had. I'll look into the ram. Thanks for the help, I'll update once I check it out.
