Ok so recently I got my new case and installed all my peripherals in it, however somewhere along the line 2 of my RAM slots have become defective.

I figured this out through diagnostics, however my question now is, is it ok to run RAM in different channels as shown by the picture in the link below? What are the pro's, cons and are there any risks? My bios seems to think im running them both at normal speeds and capacity.

Motherboard- MSI H97M-G43
RAM- G.Skill Sniper F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3

Unless it is still under warranty and you can RMA it, run with the two sticks in 3 and 4. For most uses, including gaming, it will show little performance difference.

You have both sticks in channel B (slots 3-4 from the CPU so they are in single channel mode. Neither stick works in slots 1-2? If so, couple of possibles - might try loosening the CPU cooler, then snug down screw tight, many times people overtighten in a corner or side which can throw the CPU slightly out of level, so no full contact on all pins which can affect the MC (memory controller). Another possible is there' bent pins in the CPU socket

I followed your suggestion and loosened the cpu cooler slightly, but to no avail. however during diagnostics I can across something different, I can run the ram in the 2-4 normally and my computer will boot seemingly normally,, however once i put my graphics card in, the system is thrown into a power loop, however once i put the ram into the slots shown in the picture (3-4) with my graphics card installed it runs fine. Any solutions?
