Good day, i've recently changed my ram but, after booting my pc, i've noticed that my cpu temperatures were higher then before (cpu: i5 4690k at 4.4 ghz, max temp 60 C, after the ram change got BSOD with temps at 76 C, so downclock the cpu at 4.2 ). The fact that i had to unplug the cooler to install the ram makes me think that i've removed a bit of thermal paste.
Before the change, my ram was 8 gb (2x4) at 1333mhz; the new one is 16 gb (8x2) at 1866 mhz (i've enabled the xmp profile). Could the temp problem be caused by the vicinity of the ram to the cpu cooler? Or i just need to change the thermal paste?
P.S: my motherboard is an asrock z97 killer.

Did you just unplug the coolre cable, or did you remove it completely? If you did remove it, you should try changing the compound (MX-3 or MX-4 are the best for general consumers). RAM sticks do generarte heat, so even after the change, you might still notice 1-2 C of difference.

Apparently the problem was the XMP profile. After disabling it, got back 10 C of temp. Changing thermal paste was also a good idea. Now i can stay under 60 C with 4.4 ghz.
