As the title says, im thinking of upgrading slowly from here to december, i searched online and settled on what i think is in my budget and will work for atleast 2-3 years, but im asking here in case i made a wrong decision or you guys know of a better alternative for the same, a bit more, or maybe even less money.

My current system is:
Mobo: ASRock Z97 pro3
Ram: FURY Memory Black - 8GB Module - DDR3 1866MHz CL10 DIMM
CPU: Intel Core I5-4690k 3.5Ghz Oced to 4.4Ghz
CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 7 PRO Rev.2
GPU: Zotac GeForce® GTX 970 Dual Fan 4GBish

And what i was thinking on what my next build would look like is,
Mobo: ASRock Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming K4
Ram: Patriot Viper 4 2x8GB DDR4-3400 or Corsair Vengeance LPX 4x4GB DDR4-3200
(not really sure if im really down to using 4x Slots as im terrible at cable management and opted for a single module for my current pc (i now know that 2x 4gb are better than 1x 8gb)
CPU: Intel Core i5-6600k
GPU: 8192MB ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1070 AMP! Extreme Edition

so yeah... thats what im thinking and im satisfied but if someone knows of a better alternative to any component, i would be glad if u let me know, maybe i can save a buck or two or invest them and get something way better.

Im thankful for all responses in advance.

EDIT: Dont really know if my current cooler is good enough for the CPU im thinking of getting, so suggestions would also be apreciated but only if needed, if you think it does the trick, then ill stick to it until it dies.

Solution
The money spent on a new motherboard and processor isn't worth the marginal benefit you'd gain, even after reselling them. Stick with what you have.

If you really want to upgrade something I would move up to 16gb of memory, install an SSD if you don't have one, and if you need more power than the GTX 970 is offering then move to something like a 1070. You could also buy a better cooler and try to squeeze higher clocks out of your CPU.

What kind of monitor are you using?

But the 4690k has a 1150 socket and the 6600k 1151, would it still fit in the mobo? i thought it wouldnt and i have a friend that would buy my current cpu for 200€ish, so i would expend about 50€ on the new one

Currently the Samsung Syncmaster S27B350H which i got as a gift and is enough for full hd with the 970, but i wanna move to 1440p.

@Snipergod87 i know, i listed a new mobo and ram, too

If you're going 1440p a 1070 would work fine (even in the 144Hz area). But you definitely don't need a new processor, motherboard, or memory. Even if you resell all your old stuff you'll probably end up losing over €100, and is that worth a 5% increase in performance? Roll that money towards a really nice new monitor.

So, to sum it up:
Keep everything just move from the 970 to the 1070 as intended and keep the money for a monitor, another 8GB Ram and an SSD, right?

If that's it, i thank both of you guys for investing your time :)

@Snipergod87: Will tell him.
