Hey,

I have my desktop pc (windows 10) plugged into my Bt homehub Router via a 10m CAT 5e ethernet cable.

I get a reasonable internet connection from it, but for some reason it seems to cap at 2.0MB/s

I noticed this when downloading a game through Origin. The download sits at around 2.0MB/s which appears to be my entire internet bandwidth as I can't even visit a webpage while it's downloading.

However, if I connect to the 5GHz WiFi I get a download speed in excess of 5MB/s with Origin AND can visit websites at the same time (stream YouTube HD too) without Origin's reported speed dropping.

Why might I get such different speeds? The connection to the router seems fine when wired, it's just the wired internet connection that seems capped.

Answered this myself after a bit more digging

Turned out Killer Networking was "Managing" (as it put it) my bandwidth. Unset that "feature" from the Killer Manager and I'm getting full whack from my router.
