Is my motherboard going bad or my video card?

Hey everyone,

So I'm wondering if this computer's mobo is going bad. I noticed the PC has been acting weird lately, I would start the PC and get no display AT ALL. I would unplug it and leave it off for about a minute and that usually fixed the problem. However, now it would seem that that method doesn't help anymore. The PC lights up like usual when I turn it on and the CPU, video card and case fans are all moving and it would appear that PSU is fine.

There are a few things I've tried so far:
- Trying one RAM stick at a time on each slot
- Borrowing a different PC's RAM stick
- Borrowing another video card(oddly the fans weren't moving on this other card which is the AMD 7950)
- I also checked to make sure everything was plugged in correctly

But unfortunately, I'm still getting nothing :(

Perhaps, I am missing something. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Here's a list of the parts:
MOBO: MSI 970A-G46 AM3+/AM3
CPU: Phenom x6 1100t
RAM: CORSAIR XMS 8GB
PSU: EVGA 750 B1
GPU: GTX 295 (very old video card)

Solution
To anyone who might see this in the future. My problem came from the MOBO and RAM. After switching to a new motherboard I installed an old RAM stick in a slot. Afterwards, I had the old issue of my fans ramping up loudly and no display. This was a problem I had in the past that I remember was caused due to a bad RAM stick. After switching to a new RAM stick it seems to be working perfectly. Hope this might help someone in the future.

Okay, just gave that a go as well. Different monitor along with different cable. Unfortunately, same result.

Ok so that means something is wrong with the pc, not your monitor
now I see your mobo has an onboard graphic card with a VGA connection , could you use this to connect it to your monitor to see if it is an issue with your graphic card?

Well, I tried to use the VGA port but it's different. It looks like it needs a female adapter or something. Different than anything I've seen before. But I had also used a another video card to see maybe if the current GTX 295 was just dead. But, there was no signal sent to the monitor with that GPU too. I just don't understand what it could be :\
