Fans turn on for a few seconds, then turn off.

I recently wanted to upgrade from my AMD Phenom XII 960t CPU to a AMD FX 8350 CPU. Because the first motherboard we had was an AM3 socket, we had to get a motherboard with an AM3+ socket.

We purchased the M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard with an AM3+ socket. When we got the motherboard and the CPU, we installed both and at first, and nothing happened. We soon found that the problem was that we plugged the power switch into the wrong pins, so we switched it (To be noted that our power switch has two pin-holes but there is only one pin).

It turned on, and the fans spun for around 3 seconds, and then stopped. The motherboard's light remained on, however.

We tried listening for POST beeps through headphones from the front speaker out line (lime green color), and heard nothing. We took the motherboard out of the case and plugged everything back in, and still had no luck.

We also tried using our old CPU on the motherboard, and had no luck, so we don't think it is the fault of the PSU.

Any help would be appreciated.

We're using the same power supply as before, which worked. We even tried replacing the new CPU with the old one while using the new motherboard to see if the problem is lack of power, but it still didn't work, so I really doubt the PSU is the problem.

Update: We found out that if we turn the PSU on, and then just touch the Power Switch cable to the pin, and then take it away, it works. Any fixes?

It could quite possibly be as simple as a broken case power on button.
