Hello All!
So Today My New MSI R9 390 GPU came in! I upgraded from a cheep R7 370! I threw it in my computer (not literally) and updated all drivers and basic GPU setups! But I noticed I am not getting as much as a FPS boost as i wanted in games! with the R7 370 I got about 20-30 frames on medium settings ! now i would expect that i would get way more but im only up to about 40-50? On Games Like NoMansSky Dayz and Miscreated! I asked a few friends and they said it might be my CPU? I have a AMD FX6300 with a ASUS 970 Gaming MOBO? Any Suggestions To what could be wrong?

Solution
The 390 is twice the speed of a 370 pretty much. So your doubling of fps is about right. However, you would.manage more in those kind of games with a CPU upgrade as has already been said..

Your cpu is bottlenecking your 390 Wait for zen if you want to stay amd or get minimum a i5 to feed that gpu. Have the same card paired with 4670k at 4.6. For now to alleviate this issue lower all distance scaling setting on all open world games and you will see fps boost up also increase res to 1440p or higher to reduce the bottleneck.

If I Got An Intel I7 6700k Would That Help With My Issue?

An i5 6500,6600k skylake or 4670k ,4690k haswell will suffice to feed that 390 i7 is more for rendering, dual gpu setups, streaming and that sort of stuff.
