as i was playing a game my computer, it shut down all of the sudden. as i when to try to click the power button to turn it back on, nothing happend. so i when to the back of the computer to turn off and back on the psu to see if it at least booted my to the bios, but nothing agian. what i did notice was that the lights on the mobo had difficultie turning on, so i thought i was the psu. a day later i when to the store to get a new psu, but again, the computer didnt do anything( the mobo light wolndt turn on this time). i've already unpluged and pluged back the mobo battery and clicked the reset button on the mobo but still nothing. therefore the question is, is my motherboard dead?
by the way the mobo is an asus impact viii
with an intel i7 6700 at 4.5 @ v1.28

maybe, you can check if power is reaching the regulators and if on any of them there are some outputs. if not, you can try to buy a faulty motherboard (with a broken cpu socket or other kind of defect) and swap the entire regulator board, because in that kind of board style setup, if very easy to change parts

What PSU was it originally? if the power supply 'Died' it could have taken other/all of the components with it
