with what i have now and what im going to upgrade too.

i currently have an I5 2400 on an asus p8b75-m motherboard. i plan on getting an i7 3770k in a month or 2, as i just upgraded my video card from a gtx 560Ti to a gtx 1060.

anywho, memory is the next thing im going to upgrade. my board says itll support up to 2400. currently have 16gigs and want to upgrade to 32, starting out by replacing my current 4 x 4gb sticks with 2 x 8 for now.

i currently have g.skill ripjaws in there and a coolermaster hyper212 EVO. case is thermaltake core v21. there is about 1mm of space between the memory and cpu heatsink, so id like to stick with something the same size/height. ive read corsairs are tall, so thats probably out of the question.

anywho, my question is: if i purchase 2400 memory, would it work with the i5 i currently have til i upgrade? its supported on my mobo but idk if the processor supports memory that fast, or if itll clock down to a compatible speed.

thanks!
