I'm not really asking how to fix this because I know from last time. But is it possible to have a PC setup wrong? And that somehow causes ssd's to die? I don't think that's even possible , and either way I got it checked by a computer store and they said it was most likely a factory defect.

The ssd is a SanDisk ultra II 240GB

Well really the only think that could damage it would be a PSU not giving efficient or to much power.

But i have heard of cases where a MOBO was 'bad' and killed a GPU's again and again

Go into BIOS and check what the default boot device is, may need changing to the SSD where the OS used to boot is. Depending on what motherboard it is it will look diferrent, but it's not hard to find. :) Looks something like this...

Dont think having the wrong pc setup would damage the SSD if it was the "wrong setup" it would just not work. Not sure the purpose of posting here?

Hi, I'm interested in this.

Every now, very rarely, I would load up the pc and I would get a BIOS screen with please pick boot.

It would show my Samsung EVO and my Western Digital Caviar Blue, I always click the SSD and everything works dandy then after a month it happens again.

Any idea why this happens?

The reason I posted this is mainly curiosity because while some people never have problems with ssds I had my first break in only 5 months and now this one broke is 2 months. And SanDisk is an actual reputable brand so I'm not sure why they are breaking on me so much. Which is why I asked if a PC setup a certain way could cause this.
