GPU Upgrade Options

I play only WoW and with Legion coming out soon with the new graphic upgrades my system is really struggling. I have a friend that has a MSI 770 Lightning that I can buy from him for $120, but I don't know if I should wait til my birthday to try to get one from my parents in Oct. Also, can my PSU handle the 770 or do I need to wait and get a new PSU as well? I don't care about having max settings maybe upper mid to high setting seeing as I play on low now.

PSU: CORSAIR 550W 80 PLUS GOLD Certified
Case: SilverStone SST-PS07B
Storage: 1 TB WD Black, 128 GB 840 pro SSD
Cooling: 3 Cougar 120mm fans (2 in pull on Nepton 120M) other is exhaust

if you wait till october, what would you parents buy you? a 770 should get you medium-high ishhhh with anti aliasing turned off completely

I could probably get another $100 to add to my $125 I have saved now. so somewhere in the $225 - $250 range with birthday money.

As you are using integrated graphics, the GTX 770 would be vastly superior, to that. With your overclock, you might be pushing your luck, a bit, with that PSU. Given your CPU though, I wouldn't go beyond a GTX 950. The 770 is closer to a 960, performance wise. Your PSU would be able to handle the 950, with your current setup, as well. i built a pc for my friend a month ago, he is running WOW with a GTX 750Ti medium settings with 80FPS, so a Gtx 770 will run way better.

Also, your CPU is not that good but its enough to run this game.

Yea I know my CPU isn't that great, but It was the best I could do at the time cause I couldn't afford a separate GPU and CPU. Found the CPU and Mobo for $200, 8gb of 2400mhz ram for $35, and the WD Black HDD for $30 on ebay. I only had $275 total to spend. Rest of my stuff my older brother gave me as he upgraded stuff on his computer. I just wanted to game with him ASAP, but now the integrated GPU is killing my fps to the point I cant raid with him anymore

That GTX 950, that I linked, will get you back into the game. Granted this was done with a far better CPU, the 950 is quite capable.
