Should I use XMP?

So I just built a PC for the first time, all went well my basic specs are:

Asus pro gaming-Z170
Intel i7 6700k
GTX 1080 FTW
G.skill ripjaw 16gb 3200mhz
Evga PSU 750w

My question is is it worth using the XMP profile to increase my ram to 3200mhz? Like will I notice a difference in gaming performance? Also does it affect anything else, I heard it can mess with the turbo boost technology in the i7.

Thanks

Most of us do, particularly if you multi-task, use memory intensive apps, even more and more in gaming. Keep in mind you may need a small CPU OC to run at full 3200

just enabled XMP on mine, seems a little faster. would be interesting to see some benchmark numbers.

What it does help with is minimum fps in gaming. RAM speed for a while was dismissed, but enough benches are out to show it does matter, althoogh usually for more CPU intensive stuff. The BIG jump is 1333 to around 1866 it seems. I went 1600 to 2133 and saw a very respectable boost in min fps in stuff like far cry 4 and black ops.

I guess above 2600 you may be into diminishing returns, but it's essentially free performance!
