The time has finally come for me to upgrade to a new GPU from my R9 270X, which is almost on death's door.

I have a i5-4460, 8gb of ram, a 550w psu, and a 1080p 60hz monitor. Ive long been waiting to get a new video card and maybe a new ultrawide 1440p monitor. I think with both pascal and polaris out now is the time. I just want to know which one you guys think would benefit me the best.

My first pick would be the 1060. Although this is the go to card for 1080p, I dont know if I should grab one If I decide to make the jump to 1440p ultrawide because it doesnt support SLI, what a shame.

My second choice would to buy a single RX 480 8gb now and then grab a second one for crossfire later on if I decided to go out and buy a 1440p ultrawide monitor. But I think a single RX 480 8gb would be fine for 1080p.

My third and last choice would be a GTX 1070, 2 problems arise here. I lm not sure I have to funds right now to go grab a 1070 as they are a little overpriced right now. Im also not sure if my CPU can handle Titan X(Maxwell) level performance without a signifigant bottleneck. Also if I decided to not buy a 1440p ultrawide monitor, then I would be wasting money on such a powerful GPU.

So I want hear some suggestions, what would you guys do if you were me?

You could get the rx 480, but you just could get a normal 1440p monitor. That would save you some money. If you really want to get the ultra wide, go for it. I think you'll be fine.
