Hey guys, i'm hopefully getting a fat wad of cash if I pass my clinical trial screening and finish the study, at the beginning of October and I want to spend that extra (not so hard earned) money on my very first step into the glorious PC Master Race. A friend suggested I make my build in PC Partpicker and my cousin and I will order and build 'em all in what will be our "Little Project" haha

Anyways, I just want your professional expertise and experienced opinions on the matter! I want a Case that has a shit tonne of Air Flow, I don't really mind if my build will sound like a jet engine. The sound would actually help lull me to sleep so I appreciate it haha and i'm really not much into the whole Aesthetic part of it all Since my pc will be at the bottom of my desktop (its a traditional one see) so yeah, I went with the Corsair Carbide Air 540 as I see a lot of holes and lots of fans on it. But if you have a better opinion on the matter then please don't hesitate to comment!

Also according to PC Partpicker, this build will only require about 400W of power so I picked a 500W one for extra wiggle room in case I needed the extra oomphed :)

A very good list to keep as a guideline. I also researched a lot on multiple sites before buying my EVGA SuperNova G2 850W (in case I decide to Xfire/SLI later). Also look for reviews on specific psu models on jonnyguru.com .

Hello! First of all you should get a better quality PSU. For example a XFX ts 550w would be nice for this build. The case is kinda too "overkill" i would say. A case doesn't need to be that big to get good airflow. But if that's how you roll go for it :D. Everything else looks pretty damn good.

Pretty good build you have assembled except for the PSU. Pick a good quality 650w PSU as minimum in case of future upgrades. Also, a PSU is most efficient at 50% load (if you care much about that), so keep in mind your estimated system wattage in full load. I suggest an EVGA SuperNova G2 or GS (G2 has less voltage ripple an G2 is slightly more efficient) 650-750W (depending on what you find available and for what price, sth the 750w model is about the same price as the 650w).

Hi, thanks for the feedback! What did you mean by the case being Overkill? The previous one I chose was the Cooler Master Cosmos 2 and dat shit was HUGE and pricey haha so I kinda downgraded to the Air 540, would you have any recommendations?

Overkill was a wrong word to use there. I mean it is a great case and if you want it to be big (;)) (if you need to move it somewhere that might be kinda stressful) and of course the price you could get a mid atx for a cheaper price but as you said you are getting a fat wad of cash so it seems like money isn't the main concern here :D
