Ok, since my laptop cant play some games lately (Satellite L50-B-1P1). I want a computer that can play current games at a good frame rate (40-fps) on high/mid quality settings.

I'm not interested in overclocking as I know nothing on the subjects and I prefer smoother performance over graphics.

Here's what I put together (since this is the first time building a PC, I just chose a graphics card and build around that)

http://pcpartpicker

CPU:Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU cooler:be quiet! Dark Rock Advanced C1 50.5 CFM Fluid Dynamic Bearing CPU Cooler
Motherboard:Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Memory:Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
Storage:Western Digital Blue 2TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive
Graphics card:Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 8GB G1 Gaming Video Card
Power supply:EVGA SuperNOVA G2 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

I haven't picked a case as I would like some recommendations on a case that has good air flow and if I need to buy any extra fans for the case

Notes*
Motherboard: honestly. I picked this because it was a hot seller on a website
Memory:just picked it since i needed 2x8GB ram. no idea if its any good (also hot seller)
Storage: heard blue is good for gaming
Power supply:no idea if its good, just picked something that met the volt requirements +100.

Sorry if I'm being vague, but i really have very limited knowledge of computer componants.

Oh and this is the TV/monitor ill be using http:// amazon.com

Thanks

This is almost identical to my medium priced build. You will be able to play all games on max setting with 150 FPS, so don't worry about that aspect. Overclocking is 100% about increasing performance. It is not about graphics but to increase something performance for pretty much "free". The CPU is good. I have a 6600K but the 6500 is perfect since most games use way more GPU than CPU. The CPU cooler is also more than good enough. Honestly, if you don't want to OC (Overclock), you might want to just use stock fans instead of buying a custom fan. Stock fans are louder though. I have that motherboard and I highly recommend it over any other motherboard for a medium price point build. I use the same RAM you have with slightly higher mhz...

I have that motherboard and I highly recommend it over any other motherboard for a medium price point build. I use the same RAM you have with slightly higher mhz (2666mhz). I recommend getting G.SKILL Ripjaws over the Corsair (https://www.amazon.com/G-SKILL-Ripjaws-288-Pin-Platform-F4-3000C15D-16GVRB/dp/B015FY8G6U/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1471623281&sr=1-1&keywords=ram+ddr4+ripjaws). For storage, also get an SSD. An SSD is a faster version of a hard drive. However, it is more expensive for way less space so what you do is you put your most played games and your system on the SSD while keeping all your files on your HDD. I recommend the Samsung 850 EVO. You can either use SATA III or, if you don't mind spending a little more, the M.2 version of the 850 EVO. M.2 SDD is about 30 dollars more a than SATA III SDD. The GTX 1070 is an absolute monster. It will easily have almost every game at 150+ FPS with a 1080p monitor. Finally, you somehow choose the best PSU you could ever choose. 550W is more than enough for the future, and EVGA SuperNOVA is an amazing company with great wattage for such a low price. The number it says on the box of a PSU is not that important. What matters it how much wattage it can hold, how efficient it is, and the number of rails. I got the SuperNOVA P2 650W, but that was too much and I always recommend getting the SuperNOVA G2 550W unless you are doing SLI. Hope this helped, and good luck with your build!

Exactly what i was looking for thanks
I'll take up your advice and switch the ddr. I'll keep the HDD for now as I don't mind waiting a bit for games to load and get a SSD later.

Any advice on a case or is any old ATX case will be big enough to fit the components?

SSD is definitely optional, so good decision. I didn't see the case part, so sorry. The best case I have ever gotten is the Phanteks Enthoo. Amazing cable management and full tower for a great price. There stock fans are also really good since they give you some pretty nice ones that they let you remove if you ever want to upgrade. My personal favorite is the Phanteks Enthoo Pro. I choose the window version because it felt easier for me to check on, but you can save a bit by just using the windowless version. Here is the link. https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-Enthoo-Chassis-Window-PH-ES614P_BK/dp/B00K6S1B3Q?ie=UTF8&SubscriptionId=14H876SFAKFS0EHBYQ02&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B00K6S1B3Q&linkCode=xm2&psc=1&tag=eggcoupon-20. I hope you get this one. You will not be disappointed.

J_E_D_70 is correct. I did not pay enough attention to the drive speed. When it comes to Black vs Blue, the difference in speed is very small. There is a tiny difference but not enough that you will probably notice it from day to day. Get which ever one is cheaper at the time, honestly. The one thing is that I am pretty sure Black is slightly more reliable, but you should get an SSD if you really care about loading time. I have a Blue and it makes no difference to me.
