How come that happens

Guys how come when i play bf4 on ultra settings. When there is too many explosions and stuff my fps drops from like 60-70 down to about 40-50, then goes back up after the explosions.

My Gpu is the Evga GTX 770 2GB
my cpu is the i7-4770k?

Please let me know im very curious.

because when things explode there is more "stuff" for the GPU and CPU to render. You basically running your system in to the ground, performance wise, for a few seconds until things settle down from the rendering of said explosion.
