Hello everyone!

I was wondering about which monitor to buy for my GPU. And one question got me thinking. The monitor refresh rates can be at 60Hz at 144Hz etc. But what if your GPU supports 60Hz only? Does that mean that there won't be any difference between 60Hz and 144Hz monitor? Because I was looking at GPU's specs and it said that it supports 4096x2160 @60 Hz.

Thank you for your help :)

it supports 60hz at that resolution...and likely 3840x2160 will be the same but when you drop to 1440p for example then you may utilize the 144hz. It also depends whether your using hdmi or dispaly port. each have different capabilities. what connection do you plan to use and at what resolution?

I'll most likeley go with MSI R9 380, and use it's HDMI 1.4a for TV (which is not HD (far from HD..:/))
DisplayPort 1.2 for main gaming monitor, and DVI -I or D, for secondary monitor.

Or maybe I should switch my setup by getting DVI to HDMI adapter, and connecting my TV to it, and using the HDMI, for my secondary monitor. Which one offers more Hz? Also, if I want to use "Eyefinity" which setup is better. (I know that 2 monitor Eyefinity sucks, but still)

The monitors will most likeley be 1080p 1920x1080 (at least for now).
Don't know the TV resolution, but it's not big.

FIY so you won't have to search yourself:
DisplayPort 1.2 Max Resolution: 4096x2160 @60 Hz
HDMI 1.4a Max Resolution: 4096x2160 @24 Hz
Dual-link DVI-I x 1, Dual-link DVI-D x 1 Max Resolution: 2560 x 1600 @60 Hz.

Thank you for your help :)
