Any PCIe 16x slot should accept any PCIe 16x card. However, your power supply might not be up to the task, and if you have a particularly slow CPU, you might be better served by splitting your budget and getting a slightly slower GPU and a CPU upgrade.

no not worth the risk the'' boards bios'' may not be compatible with 900 cards or above if you want to try it and see just buy the card from a place with a generous return policy if it fails to so you not holding the bag on a card that will not work

if your going to do that then you could get the card and try and see on what you got ? if it was to work then call it good ?? if not your getting the new stuff anyway ?
