I stumbled upon this
https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Impact-of-PCI-E-Speed-on-Gaming-Performance-518/
Just wondering what the difference would be between 1.0 and 2.0, cuz my HP is 1.1 I think.

Solution
There is somewhat of a difference, it is bigger than the difference between 2.0 and 3.0, however thats not really the concern. The reality is a system running a 1.1 slot will be slow enough that running a fast GPU in there the bottleneck of the slot is the least of your worries. So yes while it will work, its your best bet is to aim for the lower end of GPUs anyway, where the bandwidth difference doesn't matter.
