My sister tried to boot up the computer again about 30 minutes after turning it off and after the Asus screen I got a screen that said the following:
//
(American Megatrends copyright stuff)
ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 ACPI BIOS Revision 2501
CPU: AMD Phenom(tm) II X2 555 Processor
Total Memory: 8192MB (DDR3-600)
USB Devices Total: 0 Drive, 1 Keyboard, 1 Mouse, 0 Hub
Detected ATA/ATAPI Devices…
SATA Port 1: ST9160823ASG
SATA Port 2: Optiarc DVD RW AD-7241S (I had a game CD in the disk drive, I'm not sure if that's it)

USB Device over current status detected !!
System will shut down after 15 seconds
//
I rebooted the computer 3 times and saw this screen every time. I looked up 'USB Device over current status detected' and found a video that told me to move the SATA cables to another port. I did so and booted up the computer, and to my surprise, it worked!

MY PROBLEM:

I go to select a profile only to realize the keyboard and mouse don't work. They are both wireless and connected to a logitch mouse and keyboard receiver. I look to in the BIOS to see if the USB ports were somehow disabled, but it was enabled. It let me into the BIOS but the keyboard and mouse stopped working as soon as it got to the windows 7 login screen. I find an old Ps2 keyboard and mouse and try booting the computer.

Right after the Asus screen there is a screen similar to the one that said 'USB over current status detected' but instead said 'NO Keyboard Detected' and when I got to the login screen, the keyboard and mouse both didn't work. I tried going into the BIOS with the Ps2 keyboard and it doesn't work. I switch back to the wireless keyboard and now I can't even get into the BIOS with the original, even after I switched the SATA cables back to their original ports.

Everything worked fine before this.

I feel like I'm digging myself into a deeper and deeper hole.
Thanks for any help in advance.

This sounds like driver problems. Do you have another keyboard to test? Wired ones usually have drivers already. This will let you log in and install the drivers.

So basically it POSTS (boots), then goes to the USB warning and then shuts down. Correct?

I think I confused you by adding that first error message, it's not really related, just the events leading to the problem. What happens is the computer boots, shows a 'no keyboard' error message, goes to the windows login screen, but I can't do anything because no keyboards or mice work.

You get a "no keyboard" error pop up? Odd. I don't seem to be able to help you here, other than ask you to make sure your motherboard is correctly installed. Power might not be getting to the Inputs well.

Wonderful. Sorry I couldn't sort it myself.
