Router speed problem

I have a Iball baton router. My internet connection is 2 mbps. Router speed is ok when it is connected with laptop and desktop. But when I connected it to android devices it give me 1 mbps speed. Does my router is faulty?
Please help to fix this

depends on the model. From what i have seen you likely have a wireless n router with only 150mbps wireless speeds then no your wireless is performing as should. i assume you mean you internet connection is 2MB/s (not mbps which is much slower) which would make your wireless 1MB/s which is about what you get for a 150mbps connection on wireless.

When i download from my laptop or desktop I am getting 2 mbps i.e. 256 kb/s download speed. When on android devices i am getting about 140 kb/s. When I download from the android device I make sure all the other devices are disconnected. But then also i am not getting 256 kb/s.

your wireless will never be as good as your wired speed. now if your desktop is not wired there is certainly something up. what is the exact make and model of your router?

yeah if y our running in the low kbs then your not getting the speed you should. you could try resetting your router. also try holding the power and reset button for 30 seconds after you disconnect the power. Do this 3 times...it should factory default the settings and let you start over. lmk if this helps

I will try. But one think I cannot understand laptop and desktop getting the speed but not smart phones. Why is that?

might check to see if your routers QOS is turned on. might help. usually entering 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 will give you access followed by the router password.

as for phones not getting that speed. i find phones/tablets don't always have the best antennae and your connection speed hurts accordingly. So are your desktop and laptop using the wireless as well?

your router may not have it but it is worth checking. i have no experience with your make and model so i cannot direct you more accurately. I would check every tab/window you can.

not sure i can help you further at this point. it's possible you just have a terrible router or terrible phone antennas. have you checked you phone speeds at a friend or family members house?
