Hi,

I just built a computer using the MSI A88X-G45 motherboard. The PSU is working and the fans and motherboard LED's are on. For some reason I'm getting the post (3 beeps, pause for a few seconds, then 3 beeps again, repeated until I turn it off). I have tried resitting the ram and even tried booting without it and with another stick with the same outcome. There is nothing showing on my monitor. If anyone has any suggestion of what my problem is, I would be very grateful.

Note: There is a an LED displaying the number 53 on the motherboard when on.

Thank you

Refer to your motherboard manual that came in the box or find it online. There is usually a page that shows what the beeps and numbers on the board mean, and can tell you what went wrong most of the time.

Thank you for your response.

That was actually the first thing I did and it said it was a memory initialization error which led me to trying to resit the ram and replace it. Now I'm not sure what to do /:

Have you tried a new pair of sticks? They could be defective. Are you using more RAM than the mobo or cpu can handle? Are they at speeds the motherboard and cpu can handle? Theres a chance the sticks are defective or your using the wrong kinds for your system.

Yes, I actually tried some different ram at different quantities with the same result.

I ended up pulling out the board and tried re plugging everything in when I realized one of the corner pins on the cpu was bent. I bent it back in place carefully and everything worked perfectly.

Thanks all for the help.
