Steam Games running at 1fps

So i purchased mad max and all of a sudden when loading up the game it runs at 1fps, this happend before i factory reset my pc on any games that ran on the source engine, however it fixed itself, i am reinstalling mad max as i type this, if anyone knows why it happens or how i can fix it, then any help would be appreciated.

Did you get your drivers up to date?

Update your drivers and windows adn make sure you are connecting the monitor to the GPU, not the MB.

Reinstall drivers, and check if your monitor is plugged into the graphics card, not the motherboard.

i figured it out, the game had not closed properly, even shutting down the pc didn't help either for some reason, i just opened a game that ran on a different engine, then switched to it again. Hoepfully that can help
