I have a hp pavillion g7 series with win 7 ultimate. 64 bit Every time I start computer I get update failed. The failed update is windows 10 didn't install. How can I stop this? This computer has never been upgraded to win 10
Try cleaning the Windows Update cache files. Open File Explorer, click My Computer, right click C:\, Properties, disk cleanup, system files, select windows update box and ok.

This is only my second time using this site, and wasn't aware of a difference, and didn't actually look. Thanks for telling me, and I'll get used to it. I did get pretty solves, and information I needed both times. This is cool.

I have the same issue, and this solution doesn't work for me - there is no "windows update checkbox" in Disk Cleanup (even when I run it under admin privileges). What's next please?

After clicking Disk cleanup make sure you click System Files otherwise it won't work.
