looking for a build good enough for gaming and programming please? This is for a friend so can anyone help me and let me know if these specs are good enough please?

i5 6500
asus strix gtx 960 2gb (My old one, giving it away freebies)
MSI H110I Pro Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard
crucial 16GB ddr4 RAM 2133MhZ
Samsung 250GB SSD
Seagate 1tb
Define Nano S case
Cougar 650w psu (again my old one, used it in the past and worked great for me so should be ok)

Thanks guys :)

Then it will have to do. That 2GB od VRAM will restrict texture settings in games, but you friend can have a nice time regardless.
My main worry is that PSU. The fact that it served you does not mean that it's any good. And you should be aware that a bad PSU can fry an entire system. I'm not swaying it will, i'm just saing it can. Such a nice system deserves better.
You can grab an i3 6100 so you got cash for other stuff. Also, you should switch teh SSD to an A-Data Premier SP550 240GB 2.5" if htis is a budget build. He won;t really notice a difference.

Cheers guys, I think the plan is to stick with the parts we have for the time being and then hopefully look to upgrade the psu and gpu in the future if he feels necessary! Thanks again :)

Well, whether he feels it's necessary or not, he should change that PSU when he can. ANd in teh future, stay away from cheap adn crappy PSUs. This is a lesson you never ever want to learn first hand. I did.
