So budget wise..... Well I'm hoping to get this for my birthday in December so I would like to try and keep this under or around £2000.
I currently have a pre-built pc that came with an i7 6700 so that's a big chunk of my budget saved.
As for the case a friend of mine suggested to get a bigger one as the cooling wouldn't be the best (want to try and keep away from water cooling until I know what I'm doing) the pre built pc also has 16GB of RAM.
The only thing I can't really use from the PC is the mobo (Asus own brand) and the PSU (for some reason came with a 220w).
As for the graphics card that came with it I can probably sell it for a decent amount (GYX 745).
This build is primarily going to be for gaming and video editing.
Thank you in advance.

Not sure if you have a SSD in it so I've added one on but why not reuse the motherboard? Total guess with the case as it is personal preference but I love my R4 and this is the updated version of it, can get white if you prefer. As you don't like water which I don't blame you put on the Noctua for real cool temps.

Correct I don't have an SSD but I'll probably get one that's a bit higher in storage.
I do like the build you've given me but in terms of the case I've seen some of the NZXT cases and I like those designs.
I think I remember someone saying that my motherboard had some form of a limitation to it

For reference the pre built PC is the Acer aspire T3-710 the i7 version

It might be because you can't overclock but you can't with a non k 6700 anyway so I don't really think that matters. If ever you are interested just bang in a build with pcpartpicker and dump it here.

Probably because the PSU is weak and can't power a card, if the motherboard has a PCI_E lane (like all do since 2005) then you will have no problem with running it on that board.

If you are waiting till December , keep an eye for GTX 1080 ti release .

as for Air cooler , depending on your motherboard and RAM , Noctua D15 or D15s (more clearance)..(note that the D14 has been discontinued and replaced by D15, D15s )

If you plan on 4k Editing , get 32GB of RAM ... and a fast SSD (NVME if you can)

If you have SSD from old PC use it instead of buying a new one.

@King Dranzer

That's pretty close to the build I came up with last night. In terms of storage in my prebuilt I have a 3TB HDD but have no clue what the rpm is.
As some of the replies above said since I'm holding out till December I may get the 1080TI in an SLI. Dam this is going to be a massive upgrade from my GTX 745. I do like the build you supplied but I may switch the case out for the one in my build below mainly cause it's a bit cheaper and I like black and red.

If possible try to spend £60 extra and go with my build. Reason Hardware I picked up like ASUS motherboard has better software support in comparison to Gigabyte motherboard.
Why go for 2133Mhz RAM instead of 3000Mhz ram only to save £6.
The case you picked up is Mid Tower case and congested with 2 GTX1080s it will get very hot go with NZXT Phantom full tower case.
The PSU both will be stable but EVGA 750G2 will be bit more stressed under load when compared to Corsair RM850x.
You can go for SAMSUNG SSD instead of Sandisk.

Decision is yours. :)

Solution
Have had good experiences with Asus and Gigabyte boards. Both are excellent. (Not saying you were saying Gigabyte was bad King Drazner just supporting your thought as well as adding my own)

RAM speed is meh, but I don't know if i would ever go down to 2133 speed unless budget. Which this clearly isn't.

S340 has pretty good airflow though. He would be ok in there. Otherwise I'd recommend a midtower case like the Fractal Design Define R5 or S for more airflow.

Both are Tier 1 PSUs. But yes the 750 would be stressed more than the 850.

Used a Sandisk. Very nice and pretty speedy. Wouldn't deny anyone looking at an 850 EVO though.

Yes it is true about Gigabyte motherboards there are good.
Quality: ASUS=GIGABYTE
Software Support: ASUS>GIGABYTE

The only reason I give Gigabyte mobos second place is because they have lesser software support compared to ASUS.
