Hello mates! Can someone help me choose between these 2 power supply's :

-Cougar Power Supply STX 450W (price: 38.5 $)
and
-Thermaltake Power Supply Litepower 550W - LT-550AL2NC ( price is 45.5 $)

My Rig:

-Motherboard: H110-Pro MSI 1151
-Current VGA: HD7770 GHZ Edition Saphire-----But want to upgrade to the GTX 760 or 960
-Core i3 6100 Skylak
-8 Gb DDR4 HyperX
-2 fans: 1 80mm. 1 120mm red
-DVD RW
-Mx200 Tower by Coogar

Note 1: I'm currently using a ATX 8 year old power supply :p (My dad gave it to me)
Note 2: I'm from the middle east so no amazon or any online purchasing :/

Please help me choose and THX a lot.

take a look at this list. it ranks the psu;s based on testing done. higher tier, the better the psu.

neither of those are very good choices really. have a look at the list and compare it to what you can buy locally to get the best you can for your money. ideally you want something from at least tier 3 for your system. that would be good enough, but if you can get something from the higher tiers all the better. good luck

In middle-east, I suppose the temperature in summer can exceed 40°C at least so a PSU that can work in such hot condition could be a good choice.

The operating temperature for the LT-550AL2NC is from 0℃ to +50℃. the Cougar STX 450W didn't mention that.
But if you will be using your computer in an air-conditioned room then the temperature may not be an issue.

The Cougar STX 450W has some good protections such as: SCP, OCP, OVP, UVP & OPP.
Don't know about the Thermaltake one.

I conclude that each has some advantages compared to the other, so I suppose that any one goes.
But if I were you, I would look for an EVGA Supernova G2/GS series as it is way better than both (personal opinion).

Put in mind that Both are Active PFC units so you may need to use APFC UPS that output pure sinewaves.

Thanks for replying, actually the temperature here is about 35° to 40° max in summer, I think I'll go with the coogar cause the other one is litepower I heard that litepower aren't that good (don't know if it's true), and assuming the Thermaltake don't have protections, I should be fine with 450? Cause my PC with the 960 will consume about 333 watt in max load.
