I just bought a NETGEAR AC750 Wifi Extender. I followed the instructions on the manual, I plugged it in an outlet near my router and the power led came on green. Then I pressed the WPS button on the extender and that started blinking green, then I pressed the WPS button on my router and after about a minute the WPS led on the extender was solid green. The manual says that then automatically the router led should turn green or red depending on whether the extender is near the router or not near it. But the rounder ed doesnt light up at all. If it is installed correctly then my device, in this case my iPhone, should have the option to connect to a wifi network called my orignal wifi network which is called McMullen, and then it would be McMullen_2GEXT, or if I have a 5GHZ then McMullen_5GEXT. But that McMullen_2GEXT doesnt show up as an option for any devices, and its because the router led doesnt light up at all and I cant figure out how to fix this. Im sorry if that was confusing but I tried my best to explain my situation here. Thanks for reading and solution you have would be great thanks

Is the router also NetGear? Model #?

Does the manual indicate any meaning to "no light" versus "green" versus "red".

Try moving the extender closer to the router and see if you can get a red or green light.

Overall the handshaking process may just need more time than expected. Try the installation process a couple more times. Can be very easy to have a mis-step or two during initial setups.
