My 1tb small external hard drive is not picking up in My Computer but it is picking up in Device Management and Disc Management although it shows 876gb unallocated, the HD reads fine on a different computer and our TV, a large 1tb external hard drive picks up perfectly fine on my computer (using the same casing as with the small hard drive) the HD in question worked on my computer until I re-installed windows yesterday. I have tried a lot of solutions, but to no avail, please help. TIA

Hi there stephd2203,

I believe you can use some partition recovery tool and see whether you will be able to recover the partitions.
Otherwise, you will need to back up all the data stored on the drive while connected to the other computer -> attach it to yours -> reformat it and put the data back on it.

It may be a good idea to test the drive afterwards: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility
