Hi,
I currently have 2x8 of pc3-12800u-11-13-b1 in my Dell T1700 motherboard (i7-4790) 3.60 GHz. I would like to add another 2x8 but I can not find this type of Ram anywhere.

Would pc3-12800u-11-11-11 work?

Thanks!

SImple...you can pull sticks right off the assembly line and no guarantee they will play. This is why manufacturers test sticks together to find ones that do play nice, then package them appropriately. Don't know of any DRAM makers that will guarantee mixing two sets of DRAM. This is also why say a 4 stick pack often cost a bit more than a pair of two stick packages of the same model/spec of DRAM. It takes more testing to find 4 sticks that will play nice. Always best just to get hte full amount you want in a single package ;)
