Does using a discrete graphics card make sense?

Hello,

I currently have a system with a Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H motherboard, and an AMD A8-7600 APU. I've been wanting to record some videos for YouTube and livestream (just for fun as a hobby) but I noticed that my system can't handle my games, and the recording software at the same time without causing lag in my game. I'd like to know if adding a discrete graphics card to my system would fix this issue and allow me to run my game and recording software without lag.

Thank you very much for your help.

It will prob help a fair bit, you didn't mention DRAM but if running on the APUs iGPU it's taking some of your system DRAM, so what ever is left is split betwwen the OS the Game and whatever else you have running. Getting a dedicated GPU will free that up, would want to be running at least 8 or more GB of DRAM along with the dedicated GPU
