I recently got my hands on a second hand laptop, where as far as I can tell the previous owner broke the SATA port.

I took pictures, here's the link. Sorry for the quality:

Is there a fix? Can I connect something to the slot-looking thing on the top left in the second picture?

If not, how do I get the computer to boot? I tried booting from the usb but I get an error.

ANY suggestions would be appreciated.

The laptop itself is a samsung np300e5a.

Unless you can find where it connects to and might be willing to do a lot of DIY and risky work on it, I'd say don't waste your time. I don't know if you paid for this thing, if you did get your money back, and get a better laptop. That one needs work that I don't advise getting yourself into.
