Samsung S2 lagging

Whenever i turn on my wifi on my galaxy s2 plus it first starts to freeze for about a minute or two then there is lag and then i get notifications from apps and it starts to lag even more..After 5 minutes it works fine..Before i didn't have this problem,is there a fix to this or is it because its old or something?

It's most likely due to the age and use of installing various programs on it. If your have a backup of your files, do a factory reset on the thing, see if it runs better after that. If you don't have a backup of your files and contacts, etc.., make one and try the reset.
