I only have audio coming out of the left side of my speakers or headphones when plugged into my desktop aux port or in my HDTV that's connected by the HDMI port.
I wonder what the issue could be. First thought is a damaged aux port, but why would that effect my Tv's aux port?

Solution
See if the speakers and headphones work correctly on another system. Eliminate a hardware problem there.

Try another set of speakers and/or headphones to see if the problem remains. If so, the the computer is likely to be the source.

The audio configuration may have been inadvertently changed or altered.

Right click the small speaker icon (probaby lower right screen corner) and go into the Volume Mixer and Playback devices settings.

There are many tabs and properties to drill down through. What you are looking for is some setting that favors audio output to the left speakers.

Change settings only one at a time to see how and if things work.

Then reinstall the sound card drivers - may be some corruption problem. Reinstalling...
