My monitor turns off when fridge starts

My problem is that whenever the fridge starts, my monitor turns off for a second then back on. This is not only annoying, but I'm concerned that it could cause long-term damage to my monitor. What is causing this problem ?
How can I fix this ?

don't really know how to explain but it is because your power line/cable probably isn't strong enough so when the fridge starts it takes a little more power for a second and your monitor doesn't get enough power. the only way to really fix this is to replace the power cables or hook either your monitor or fridge to a different outlet that doesn't use the same cable
