Hey all my friend wants to know if an AMD FX 3850 will bottleneck with two R9 380s. He is currently trying to upgrade his system and this is what he is asking about. He currently has one R9 380 with a FX 6300. Also would the FX 6300 Bottleneck with the two cards? or should he just buy the 3850? I don't have much knowledge on the AMD products, so I hope you guys can answer it. OH YEAH his motherboard is a Asus I believe M5A97R2.0 this is the board he will want to crossfire with.

CF is not a good idea

get a single powerful card either a gtx 1060 or rx 480 that you can migrate to a new build later

it is not worth wasting any further money on that platform, overclock the 6300

upgrade to an intel setup to fully get the...

upgrade to an intel setup to fully get the benefits of the good gpu you get when you have the money

CF sucks unless you are doing just bench tests. In real gaming most games dont support it and when they do you get like 10FPS gain. It depends on the games you play and what els you use your computer for if you will even get any gains upgrading from the 6300 to 8350.

Just hold on a bit longer and the new Zen cpus will be out. Then see what more fits your needs CPU wise. As for GPU the RX 480 isnt much a jump from a R9 380. If you want a real boost in GPU go with a 1080 or 1070.
