Ok so i have bright house as my isp and pay for 200 lighting internet speeds. They gave me a modem/router combo. Now when I hardwire with an ethernet cable to my pc i get between 150-190 speeds depending on time of day ect. I also know that when using wifi i should not expect to get anywhere close to these speeds, which is fine, but i get not even 15 mbps while on wifi. I was wondering if getting a seperate router would help the situation to get better speeds on wifi, because currently I can barely watching streaming applicataions.

also a quick fyi, i do live in an apartment and there are a quite a bit of people also using wireless networks, most of them also seem to be bright house.

if i new, seperate router will not help with this sitaution is there anything will help?

thank you for any suggestions.

Frankly I tend to support the modem/router/access point setup. You get way better performance from a seperate modem, wired router and access points then from combinations of them. And with 200mbit (you're lucky.) you will need nice hardware to utilize it.
