I have a Polaroid brand wireless/Bluetooth mouse and sometimes after I press the scroll lock button on the device and use it to scroll a page, a red arrow appears on the screen that I can't get rid of without rebooting my computer.

It points towards the upper left hand corner of the screen, and it clicks the left mouse button on the mouse every 5 seconds or so.

How do I get rid of it?

I didn't see any settings that seemed to be related to this issue iin the mouse's settings in control panel.

My thought is that some automated mouse action has been implemented and launches based on the scroll lock button being pressed.

Is it a new mouse or have you recently added or updated any software?

Go into Task Manager or msconfig.msc and see if you can identify the offending process or service.

May have become part of the startup applications.

Look at all the things that are running. Google any process or service that does not make sense and see if you can figure out its purpose.

If some strange process or service is running stop it and see if the red arrow is gone. Then the next step is to get that process or service removed.
