the rules may change with dx 12(however i doubt it). pretty much you can use a rx 470 with a rx 470. thats it, now with the previous generation you could use a r9 280 and a radeon hd 7950 together in crossfire since they were pretty much the same exact chip/gpu. but currently the only thing you can pair a rx 470 with is another 470, i doubt the next generation of cards will be the same or similar enough to use together.
1.) using two rx 470s will be good enough 2 years from now right? i have 3 way crossfire so im thinking that maybe i could install a rx 470 ever 2 years or something.
2.) what exactly is dx 12? i see it also and idk what it is
3.) what gtx is in par with the rx 470? im trying to play bf4 in my 1080p monitor
1. yes and no, it depends on the settings you like to run games at. if i were you i would wait and go for the best most powerful single card you can buy instead of going the crossfire/sli route. a more powerful single card, is better than 2 less powerful cards in sli/crossfire almost always.
2. dx12 is an api such as openGL, Vulkan, dx 11/10/9 and such. in simple terms, its what helps the developers communcate/interact with the hardware however its to complex to try to explain in a small forum post.
3. currently the closest gtx card to the rx 470 would probably be the gtx 960. however i wouldnt bother purchasing any card from the gtx 900 series which means either buying the gtx 1060 or better from nvidia until they release something like a 1050. if i were you i would spend a little extra and buy either the rx 480 or the gtx 1060, keep in mind you cant sli two gtx 1060's and remember what i said about a single more powerful card almost always being a better option than 2 less powerful cards. thats why no one recommends sli/crossfire setups
