Hello,
(title) I launched world of warships and stopped at the log in screen when i decided to not play. I clicked the exit button and my screen went black. I thought the game had trouble exiting and tried alt tabing and all, when my pc restarted to the lock screen (windows 10), not a full restart. Noticed my custom contrast settings for my monitor were off so i launched nvidia control panel to change them back but nothing happened. After, i checked msi afterburned and all the gpu monitors were set to 0: 0C temperature 0%usage and etc. The pc didnt recognize my gpu.. I had no trouble before: 5+min before this happened i was playing cs go and had no issues at all. Earlier before I played The Witcher 3 and no issues or frame drops. GPU Temps were 34-38 at idle. Everything WAS fine?

Don't turn it on just yet. I suggest opening up your PC, making sure everything is as it should be. Connections to the right places, everything has sufficient power, no weird cable placement etc. It could just be your computer having a tad bit of a spas, it happens now and again. happened to me one time when my computer didn't recognise i had a GPU installed until i restarted the computer.

I assume you've not turned it on after the incident. Try starting her up when you get the chance and see if it still doesn't recognise that you have a GPU. if you can actually see something coming on your monitor, then your GPU is definitely being picked up to show you a picture. I recommend using this piece of software to see if it picks it up:

https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/

It should pick up your GPU instantly and provide you with statistics.

If not (for some reason), re-install your GPU drivers.

Well as it restarted itself to the lock screen i entered my pin and it looked fine at first. But then windows animations (start menu button etc.) were choppy/laggy, and i thought the motherboard had switched to cpu-gpu. Skype worked fine, talked to a friend (audio was fine). but nvidia control panel wasnt working. I'll see to it tomorrow.

Alright I got it checked. Cleaned everything inside the case, got the dust out, and booted up the pc, monitor still connected to gpu. And everything works absolutely fine. Gpu detected, fans spinning, good temps, and no problems during boot. So i guess it was a software issue/fail? MSI afterburner detected gpu, nvidia exp. and control panel are working.
