Hey,
1. So according to 970 pro 3 supported cpu's list i need to have version 2.0 , i have 1.6.
Will it create any problems ? I do not want to update my bios since it can create so many problems, even destroying my motherboard due to failed bios install so i prefer not do it.
2. Second question is one version of fx 8300 is supported does it mean that all are ?
I haven't found cpu with the number their listed in any of my local shop, but i found fx 8300 just with different version name, will it still work or am i out of look ?
Thanks for the info,
Cheers.

i know it won't be destroyed, but it will make board useless. Unless i get the chip, since they are not selling that motherboard in my country, i doubt i will be able to get that chip.
So my questions remains, how this will affect my motherboard, if i won't update ?

970 Pro3 R2.0 supports FX-8300 since BIOS version P1.70.

The older 970 Pro3 supports FX-8300 since BIOS version P1.20.

I don't know where you come up with different versions of the FX-8300 or the statement "970 pro 3 supported cpu's list i need to have version 2.0 , i have 1.6". Makes no sense to me. I would advise you to not flash the BIOS if you don't know what you are doing.

AMD uses a CPU part number system where a boxed retail processor comes with a heatsink/fan. They also list a CPU that comes in a plastic tray with no heatsink/fan.

Darn, sorry i read it incorrectly. Thanks god, it only requires 1.2.
But my question remains the fx 8300 the motherboard support is FD8300WMHKSBX , but my local store have FD8300WMHKBOX. Will it still work then or am i out of luck then ?
